That second wasn't nearly enough time, not by far. Edgeworth had barely begun to turn around before something slammed into him, catching his arm with a loud crack and sending him sprawling across the asphalt. Any sounds of shock that might have escaped him were stolen along with the air that was ripped from his lungs, leaving him gasping and floundering, struggling to catch his bearings. Before even seeing any faces he knew what was happening, who he had to contend with, and he'd be damned if he'd make it that easy for them.
