Who: Miles Edgeworth, Sokka
What: The community decides Edgeworth could use a short vacation.
Where: Avatar-verse
When: Random date, pre-The Library episode of Avatar: the Last Airbender.
Since Edgeworth joined the community, waking up in strange locations (or strange company) had become an all too common occurrence. The last two times he’d suddenly found himself in a forest had resulted in a (recurring) case of Typhoid and a short, terrifying stay on Jurassic Park, so it's with a healthy measure of trepidation that he pushes himself into a sitting position and stares around the moonlit campsite he’d been dropped into, struggling to make out details in the limited light.

unfortunately, the happy images don't last; they're washed away in a sudden, violent deluge that causes him to jerk awake. catching his breath, he warily glances around but finds nothing out of the ordinary, so he relaxes against his pillow with a sigh. it's only when he's drifting back to sleep that he realizes the reason he actually woke up.]
Nngh...
[rolling onto his side elicits a soft groan, as his bladder is caught uncomfortably between the ground and his weight, and trying to ignore it doesn't seem to be working.
he frowns petulantly and, after a few moments, slowly pushes himself up, getting to his feet to waddle toward the trees, grunting all the way; he was having a really good dream, dang it...]

crossing his arms over his chest, Edgeworth stays still and waits for the boy to notice his presence.]

where are those warrior instincts, again?]

It’s been a long time since I’ve been camping, but if I recall correctly, thoroughly checking your surroundings before...relieving yourself is one of the cardinal rules.

the color, of course, doesn't escape him.
not one to be caught completely off-guard, however, he quickly scans the area for some kind of weapon and reaches for the nearest thing he finds: a fallen tree branch beside him]
[wielding the branch offensively, he demands:] Who are you?! What do you want?!
no subject
My own bed in my own apartment...but for the moment I’d settle for some assurance that you aren’t going to take any unnecessary steps with that thing.

[brandishes the branch about for good measure, hoping it comes off as threatening; his grip tightens with every move the man makes, and he keeps a close, suspicious eye on him]
Are you Fire Nation?

[...not to mention Edgeworth’s surreptitious step back as the branch comes a bit too close for comfort. he cocks an eyebrow, answering dryly:]
‘Any unnecessary steps that are necessary?’ I’m not the one swinging around a weapon. And as the...silk pajamas should make fairly clear, I’m not carrying one, either.
[spreads his arms slightly to demonstrate.]
[pause; genuinely questioning] Fire Nation?
